Trip Collins founded his Gwinnett County based firm, the Law Office of Trip Collins, in 1998. In doing so, he aspired to create a law practice that would emphasize establishing constructive attorney-client relationships through one-on-one interaction, open and honest communication, and a track record of success. Attorney Collins has coupled his emphasis upon client relations with thoughtful objectivity and professional civility, all of which converge to spawn a formidable champion in the service of each client’s cause. By his efforts, Trip has become a familiar and welcome face at the courthouse, one who knows the Gwinnett justice system and has a rapport with its players. His knowledge and rapport go a long way toward streamlining his efforts and maximizing his effectiveness on behalf of his clients.
Trip embarked upon his legal career in 1998, the same year that he graduated with honors from the nationally-renowned University of Georgia School of Law. There, at UGA in Athens, while still in law school, he got his first taste of litigation. As a volunteer intern and third year practitioner at the UGA Legal Aid and Public Defender Clinic, under the supervision of experienced trial lawyers, he represented clients in actual cases and gained invaluable experience as a litigator. It was in those courtrooms in Athens-Clarke County that Attorney Collins found within himself a passion for standing up for his clients, even against the most powerful of foes.
In the years since then, Attorney Trip Collins has served hundreds and hundreds of clients, primarily in cases involving family and criminal law. He has worked trial-court and appellate-court level cases, presenting them to judges and juries, all over the northeast metro Atlanta area, including in the counties of Gwinnett, Barrow, Jackson, Hall, Banks, DeKalb, Fulton, Walton, White, Clarke, and Oconee.
Attorney Collins is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, licensed and in good standing since first becoming a member over a decade ago. He is authorized to handle cases in the courts of law and equity of Georgia, the Federal District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the Georgia Court of Appeals. When he is not serving his clients or spending time with his family, he is active in his community. Trip has volunteered his time as a technical advisor to the local BSA Law & Government Explorers post; as a coach to the North Gwinnett mock trial team; and as an evaluator at local moot court and mock trial competitions. He also enjoys helping out at Gwinnett’s annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day event and at various activities with his son’s cub scouts pack.
